How my journey began

Hey, Y’all! I’m Gracie Lathrop (Grace Langdon Art) and I am a watercolor artist based in Chapin, SC.

Welcome to one of my creative spaces. I married my husband whom I’ve known since I was 3 💕 You can say, we are lifelong sweethearts with two amazing kids who inspire my business every day. While I have worked in the art and events world for my entire career I started taking my personal art business seriously after having my firstborn, Langdon Jo.

Photography

Lydia Hunter (Lydia McCaulley Photography) Photography Studio Manager

Lydia, wife and mom to a sweet boy. She also married someone she has known since her early school years but chose to name her business after her given name. Lydia has been a successful photographer for many years specializing in weddings, couples, branding, and truly amazing storytelling. After the birth of her son, she also felt a shift in her business and began to focus on motherhood and birth photography.

The photography studio at Called will be open for rentals and allow other photographers to use their gifts in tandem with our space to capture moments for families and businesses to love for a lifetime. Lydia will be managing, running, and generally being the heartbeat of the photography side of Called. While she will continue to run her personal photography business, Lydia McCaulley Photography, she will be helping schedule the space for other photographers to share with their clients as well.

Hospitality

Lisa Smith (Smith Paper & Paste) Creative & Hospitality Director

After retiring from teaching, my mom, Lisa McCaulley Smith, embarked on a creative journey, crafting paper mache sculptures using vintage books to narrate the stories behind each piece. Together, we entered the art market scene, discovering not only our shared passion for creating but also the joy of connecting with our community. Now, as the Creative and Hospitality Director at Called, Mom infuses every corner with intentional creativity, ensuring everyone feels special. With space for classes and pop-up events, we aim to host multiple monthly classes and shopping events, showcasing the many friends we've made in the creative and business community. Mom, also known as Lisa, has had a varied journey, from owning a family hardware store with our dad during their early years of marriage and parenthood to her photography business. Growing up surrounded by family businesses and creativity laid the foundation for Called Creative Studio.

While that was kind of a wild ride, with lots of names, and lots of stories I hope you join the 3 of us as we intentionally create a space that will allow you, and so many others to enjoy creativity and community together in a space we are all Called to be.
